Guest Speaker will be Scott Slatton, Town Administrator with the Town of Summerville.
A native of the “dark corner” in northern Greenville County, Scott Slatton brings a wealth of experience and a diverse background to his new position. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Winthrop University and a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University. Slatton’s career includes experience as a political writer on Capitol Hill, a human resources and information technology director for a Charlotte manufacturing company, a town manager in North Carolina and as a city manager in South Carolina.
Most recently, Slatton dedicated nearly 16 years to the Municipal Association of South Carolina, where he held multiple positions that involved providing training and technical assistance, lobbying and communications services to the state’s 271 cities and towns.
Slatton holds the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City and County Management Association and is a South Carolina City and County Management Association member. His extensive involvement in professional, community, and state boards and committees underscores his commitment to public service. Additionally, Slatton is an Eagle Scout and a former volunteer firefighter, with an induction into the Woodruff Fire Department Hall of Fame in 2012.
Scott has been married to his wife, Dr. Angie Slatton, for 29 years, and they have two adult children, Joshua and Abbie. The Town of Summerville is excited to welcome Scott Slatton and looks forward to his leadership and vision for the community.
